Gordon S. Wood (born 1933) is an American historian and Alva O. Way University Professor Emeritus at Brown University. He is one of the nation’s foremost scholars on the American Revolution and the early U.S. Republic. Wood’s works have won both the Pulitzer Prize and the Bancroft Prize.
